Welcome to the 2018-2019 Season of the Arts! I’m thrilled to announce that we are ushering in a new on-line ticketing system this season. While most of our season will continue to be non-ticketed, for those shows requiring a ticket the new platform allows patrons to purchase tickets online, to select seats, to print tickets at home, and to have tickets sent directly to your smart device. We are thrilled to enter the 21st century in the Arts!
Indeed, 21st century ideas and perceptions permeate our theatrical season this year. While the season offers something for all ages (The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs and Shrek The Musical Junior), it also allows us some broader educational opportunities. We are thrilled to introduce our first KinkADE Underground in October. Standing for Actor Driven Event, KinkADE Underground provides an opportunity for our advanced acting students to create an Actor Driven Event (no sets, no lights, no costumes) while working on literature that challenges both actor and audience to critically think about more complicated social issues. Additionally, two of our other upper school shows focus on an important issue directly facing our contemporary society: the importance of female empowerment.
All of our Visual and Performing Arts faculty members are committed to helping our students grow as both artists and citizens of the world. We are hopeful that through our productions, our concerts, our exhibitions, our screenings, our readings, and our publications our audiences, gallerygoers, and readers will grow with us.
